Case Study
National Indigenous Art Fair
NIAF is a marketplace for indigenous artists and creators to sell their works.
The National Indigenous Art Fair (NIAF) is a marketplace for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, jewellery, gifts, homewares, plants and Indigenous bush food. All of which can be purchased directly from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from remote community-owned art centres in Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia.
Slickweb was engaged by Squarespace to collaborate with them to design and build NIAF's new website under their platform, as part of Squarespace's efforts to support the Indigenous Community. Working closely with NIAF, we developed a website that captures the essence of the brand and its authenticity and showcases what the marketplace offers. The focus on inclusiveness through simplicity and accessible features was vital to appeal to a broader audience of all ages and backgrounds.
The site boasts a modern and spacious full-width layout, legible typography and large imagery to create an authentic and user-friendly experience. More importantly, the site immerses the visitor within the culture via the extensive detailed imagery of indigenous art and activities and a warm and welcoming earth tone colour palette.
